Acupuncture is best known for it’s ability to relieve pain, reduce swelling, improve range of motion and speed healing. Modern research has shown that acupuncture is effective at treating many different types of pain. Because of its effectiveness and low risk, acupuncture is an excellent first stop for pain management. At Concord Center Acupuncture, we work hard to relieve your pain as quickly as possible. We understand that pain can greatly interfere with your daily activities and can inhibit your ability to enjoy life and reach your individual potential. We work with you to come up with an individualized plan that best addresses your goals, such as eliminating or managing pain, reducing pain medication or getting you out on the dance floor or tennis courts once again! Whether you’ve been in pain for one week or twenty years, acupuncture can offer relief while correcting the root cause of the pain with little to no side-effects.
Our practitioners use a distal style of acupuncture, known as the Balance Method, that is especially effective in treating pain. We are committed to practicing and refining this unique style of acupuncture. For most conditions, you will not need to undress because acupuncture points that lie between the elbows and hands and between the knees and feet are used to treat pain anywhere in the body. Most patients feel immediate relief during their first treatment but a series of treatments are usually required in order to maintain or further reduce your pain. Our goal is for you to be pain free as quickly as possible!
At Concord Center Acupuncture we have had a 90% success rate treating pain, reducing swelling and improving range of motion. Acupuncture not only speeds the body's healing process but helps you feel better than ever. If you suffer from pain and your particular condition is not listed here, call us for a free phone consultation to determine if acupuncture can help you.

Acupuncture treats pain by balancing or unblocking the flow of qi or bioelectric energy in our meridians. Chinese Medicine has mapped a network of meridians within our bodies in which this qi flows. When the qi flow is blocked, pain results. Think of this like the blockage that occurs when water is trying to flow through a kinked garden hose. When the garden hose is blocked pressure builds up behind the blockage. In this same way, a blockage in an acupuncture meridian will create a build up of pressure or pain in the affected meridian. Stainless steel acupuncture needles are used to conduct this bioelectric energy or qi. We all know that metal is an excellent conductor of energy. In this way, acupuncturists are able to affect the qi of a particular meridian and unblock it in order to eliminate pain and expedite healing of an injury.
